Why does my new Panasonic surround sound set has very very quiet static through some speakers?

I bought a new set of Panasonic SA-PT660 surround sound speakers. I hooked them up and they're working, but I can hear static coming very very quietly out of the speakers. My bf can't hear it but I am pretty much positive I can. Any ways to fix this?

U might need to turn down or adjust the speaker setting in your home theater setup menu options. See your Dolby or DTS options. If this is not the case, check all speaker connections for wires making contact/loose connections.

Where should I place my Surround Sound Speakers for best sound quality?

I have a Panasonic 42" Plasma (TH-42PX60U) and I just bought a Samsung Surround Sound System (HT-TX72), I was curious to know where should I place (in feet) the 2 front speakers as well as the 2 back speakers to make sure that I am getting the best sound. I have my couch set up about 8 feet away from the TV.

This guide shows in great depth the ideal placement of each speaker; http://www.soundstage.com/surrounded/sur rounded200307.htm

How do I extend surround sound speaker cables?

I've bought a surround sound system, Panasonic SC-PT850, but the cable for the rear speakers is too short.

Whats the best way to extend them? If I get another piece of audio wire, do I need to solder the 2 ends together or can I just twist them?

The best thing to do is just buy a new piece (longer) of the same gauge wire. When you join them sometimes the sound does not come out as clear as it would with a whole wire. Walmart has speaker wires cheap.

Bought a Panasonic SA-PT460 surround sound system - can't get the back 2 speakers working.?

I have good sound from the front 3 speakers but the rear 2 don't emit any sound. I've checked all the connections and they are OK. The dog has eaten the manual. Help

Hi. I have just been reading your manual, on the Panasonic website. If you open your manual, and look at page 31, or the paragraph called "Using sound effects" Try using the test tone, just to see if all your speakers are operating properly. Good luck and happy listening.

How do i connect surround sound speakers to my pvr + dvd player and telly?

i have a panasonic wide-screen telly, a dvd/vcr combi unit (samsung) and a humax pvr9200. Currently there are two scartleads connected to each. I am looking at getting some surround sound speakers for my system (dolby 5.1 maybe), but which is the best way to connect them to all of this?

Obviously i want to be able to watch a dvd with surround sound as well as freeview on the hummy, but without changing around the leads!

I am afraid the simple answer is the expensive one, get yourself a surround sound amp (AV). On the up side you can also connect Hi-Fi components CD Tuner etc and real speakers. My AV is programmable so the CD etc is set to stereo and the Video, DVD and T.V. are set to pro logic 5.1. Have a look at the Richer Sound Web page to get an idea of prices.

Hi, I am thinking of buying this TV to hang on our wall. It seems to have good reviews and the price is about right (£700). I intend to buy some sort of extra speakers to make it into a surround sound/home cinema set-up. Has anyone any thoughts on this TV or can anyone suggest anything better for this price range. AJ Electronics seem to be selling it the cheapest. Hi, I am thinking of buying this TV to hang on our wall. It seems to have good reviews and the price is about right (£700).
