Pc Stereo Speakers

I have stereo pc speakers plugged into sound card that play fine. Bought a flat screen monitor that has speakers on it and can't seem to get them to play. I've checked everything. Nothing is muted. I change settings and still no sound.

Did you connect the audio cable from the monitor to the sound card.
Did you raise the volume from the monitor, i.e. Vol- Vol+ buttons.

as opposed to the pc speakers?

what do you need to do for this? connections/hardware?

my cd deck is broken so i figured i'd try playing my music through my computer but wanted the stereo speakers for the output sound.

i have a packard bell pc and on the power units rear there is an orange and blue coloured circular socket. Would they be anything?

please help if you can.

I have got 2 stereo speakers that i want to hook up to my new PC instead of buying some new speakers. I dont want to connect it via an amp, just connect the speakers directly to the PC via an adapter etc. They normally take the bare wire/zip cord connections to connect to the amp but i dont want it hooked up to the stereo system in my room, but use them instead of the normal PC speakers you can buy. How would i go about doing this?

Radio shack sells a no solder headphone plug end...it is simple...you connect the ground wires together then to connector...then the positive wires go to the other 2 hook-ups.

They will not sound great due to lack of power...but they will work as a set of head phones works...

I have two stereo speakers. How can I connect them to my PC (which has a surround sound card). Where do I connect it to? There are several different colured jacks at the back. THanks

the term 'surround sound' is thrown around so loosely today it bothers me. You will never truly accomplish 'surround sound' unless you have speakers surrounding you, or if you have a perfectly acoustic THX certified room. if you are just using two speakers, you best option is to set it to a stereo setting so that you get the most out of those speakers.

I am not an electronics guru, but the problem seems to be that stereo speakers are provided power and signal from the stereo through the speaker wires. PC only provides signal, PC speakers have to have an external power supply. ????

you need to plug the speakers into an electrican point in your house
