Polk Audio Ceiling Speakers

I'm a fan of Polk Audio but don't know if Polk is the right choice. Any suggestions. I have an Onkyo receiver and a Polk subwoofer. I currently have Bose speakers but need to install in-ceiling speakers.

I have Infinity in-wall speakers and they are great. Polk makes a good one too. I have Bose in another room but I think you pay for the name more than the quality.

Go with Polk as long as they have what you are looking for...

i'm trying to install in-ceiling speakers. i only have about 3" of depth available. i want good quality at a low price. along the lines of infinity, bose, boston acoustics, polk audio, etc.
and can i use in-wall speakers and mount them in the ceiling instead?

I like the klipsch linked below they can be aimed to your listening area.

If you plan to use these as a home theater speaker you really should reconsider and get a bipole or dipole surround instead.

And the companies you listed with Bose would have a fit being next to them. Bose speakers amaze but do not reproduce sound accurately, listen to all before you buy.

I'm putting together a home entertainment system to go with my blu ray player. My living room is approx. 17x22 ft, has 2 walkways, 1 door, 3 windows and a fire place. Needless to say there isnt enough wall space or floor space to mount or place speakers properly. I've research in-ceiling speakers such as the Bose 191 and the Polk Audio rc80i. Based on users, these speakers are good, but in-ceiling speakers are generally great for music, but not for movies. Is this true? If not, what speakers would you recommend?

Ceiling speakers are less than ideal, even for music as they are not pointed in the right direction. They point down rather than into the room and are good for flooding it with mediocre sound. Even music suffers unless it's elevator music or a PA system. Stereo separation suffers, directionality suffers, the first reflection point is the floor (bad room modes), it's just all around bad news.

In-Wall are recommended over In-Ceiling any day. Most of the major manufacturers like Klipsch, Polk or Paradigm manufacture them. Stay away from Bose, they are all hype and poor performers.
