Polk Audio Computer Speakers

My older computer is an hp pavilion 504n with an hp pavilion mx70 moniter. The speakers say polk audio. My new computer is a compaq prsario with a compaq mv540 moniter. Please help. i've tried everything.

It seems to me that as long as you have an audio jack in back of the new PC it should not be a problem. They are usually color coded with the green jack being the audio input.

i have a problem. i was playing my music, when all of a sudden my speakers stopped working. i tried a different set of speakers, still no sound. i tried restalling the software using plug and play. still nothing. could my sound card have went out or what? i have tried everything i know to do being a complete geek but i am still not getting anything to happen. btw, i have a xp computer polk audio speakers. i have tried the different speaker jacks and outport jacks on my harddrive and nothin. i even tried headphones and that didnt work. is my sound card out or is there anything else i can do. plz help asap. thanx so much!!!!!!!

sounds like a soundcard issue to me. try unistalling and reinstalling the drivers for it. if that doesn't work, it looks like you'll need to shop around for a new one.

I have some headphones that plug into my computer's speaker port and they work just fine. I have some speakers that work on my old DS and some other things but when I plug them into ANY of the speaker ports on my computer, the audio does not play. They are 2 speakers with 1 plug on them, and their brand is Polk Audio. My drivers for everything are all up-to-date. Why is it the headphones work but the speakers, which have the exact same type of plug, don't work?

Try checking to see if the power level is over 9000.

We just got a new HP pavilion slimline 3700. It's replacing the hp pavilion x1948 that we've had for a good while. The "Polk Audio" speakers for the old computer will work on the old computer and on my dell laptop, but when I plug them into the audio jack in the back of the new slimline, there is no sound. What's going on?

about the only thing I could assume is that you need to update your sound driver in your device manager. Speakers of course don't need a driver but you did not say whether or not the jack works with any other device. If it doesn't then you may need drivers. You may also need to open your media center and make sure that jack is the default audio device.

i have a pair of polk audio speakers for my computer and they are not very loud i downloaded the audio driver and it is still low... all the volume levels are all the way up and its still low... someone please help me!!

check if the cable for the speakers is pushed all the way in your computer. It might be loose. Thats all I know.
