Polk Audio Speakers Driver

I have some headphones that plug into my computer's speaker port and they work just fine. I have some speakers that work on my old DS and some other things but when I plug them into ANY of the speaker ports on my computer, the audio does not play. They are 2 speakers with 1 plug on them, and their brand is Polk Audio. My drivers for everything are all up-to-date. Why is it the headphones work but the speakers, which have the exact same type of plug, don't work?

Try checking to see if the power level is over 9000.

i have a pair of polk audio speakers for my computer and they are not very loud i downloaded the audio driver and it is still low... all the volume levels are all the way up and its still low... someone please help me!!

check if the cable for the speakers is pushed all the way in your computer. It might be loose. Thats all I know.

ok so i have a hp pavilion mx70. when i first got it the audio did work cause it was new. and then it got some virus so i did a system restore and it kept working. so i had to do like 2 more systems restoores. and the audio still worked. the speakers are polk audio brand and they came with the computer. but now they wont work. i plug them in and i get this bubble saying that theres a new hardware so i try to install it and then it says something about not finding the right stuff. i think i might have to download the driver for the speakers but i dk how. can someone plz help me

go to the official site of your speaker's brand (search at yahoo with keyword "brand name" + official site)

they should have a "download drivers" section. you'll need to know your speaker's model perhaps.

I have and older polk audio driver and the cone is stuck down like on my other one i can push on it and it moves but this one is just like locked i think the poles might have been reversed or something? im not sure i was just wondering if there were any fixes for it? thanx
yea ive got my amp on and my otherone works fine but this one is like i got it to move now but it seems like its scraping on something and theres nothing to like push it back

The magnet won't reverse polarity, it's stuck.

Either it was pushed down far enough to snag on something, or the voice coil melted and it's jammed.

If your installation is done correctly and the gain on the amplifier is not cranked so high it is clipping, you will be fine.
