I just re-formatted my computer and now its not registering my speakers. It said there is no audio device?

After re-formatting and re-installing windows my computer cant find my speakers. In the audio tab in the controle pannel it sais that there is no audio device. The speakers are plugged in, how do I get my computer to recognize them again? I am running windows xp.


Did the speakers come with a CD? If they did pop that in and the computer will install the device drivers from there. If not you will have to go to the manufacturer's website to download the drivers for your speakers. If that doesn't work (or if you have the type of speakers that just plug into the headphone jack), then you will need to find the device drivers for your sound card. Did your PC come with a disc from the manufacturer besides the windows disc. That will have your sound card drivers on it. If not call the PC company customer service.

I bought this set of pioneer speakers. they're an older set, but appear to be in top shape. I opened them up and somebody has got the wiring all screwed up. I need a scamatic that shows the proper wiring diagram. BTW the model # is

Most consumers don't open up a speaker box. How do you know that the wiring is all screwed up, are they all hookup or cut up. If they are still connected then it's ok, try connecting a source to the speaker and see if they work. No one can assist you if you did not provide the model number for the speakers. Try goin online to pioneer and provide the model number, they can probobly assist you better.

How can I re-install audio into my computer?

My audio suddenly stopped working one day, the volume was set to high and the speakers are fine. I checked the control panel and it says that the software is not installed, I attempted to fix it by clicking 'install missing hardware' but didn't work. How can I fix this?


Reinstall the audio driver. If you don't have it, go to the computer manufacturer's site and download it.

I lost my audio again, how do I re-install built in speakers? TY?

This happened to me before, and though it took me 2wks I figured it out. Here I am again same problem near a month, but can't remember how I did it before. Thanks for your help!!!


depending on the brand of pc you have, go to the manufactures website and click on support / drivers, type in the model of the pc and search for the audio driver.
