Record Music Through Speakers

is there any free program out there that will let me record music that I am listening to on my computer.

I really like this song on myspace but I can't find it anywhere.

How to record audio straight from your your computer. !IMPORTANT! If your computer does not have stereo mix look for wave out mix.

I dont want to put my speakers in front of my mic. Is there a way to set it up where any noise that would be played through a speaker is recorded?

This program is capable of recording all of the sound being produced by your computer regardless of the program. I have not tried it with DRM being played by Media Player, so I don't know if it works in that case. (from what little I've read about DRM it's not supposed to work while playing DRM stuff)

Be aware though, a lot of music and other sound that various software plays is copyrighted. (eg. LAUNCHcast...)

Is there any way to record music that is played through a computer and save it as an mp3? Preferably something that keeps the sound quality good. Not like using a mic and recording from the speakers because it obviously doesn't sound very good that way.

Anyways, more than Likely Replay AV will be your best bet, there has not been a radio station online i have NOT BEEN able to record with it yet.

I have a cord that connects my guitar straight to my Macbook (a 1/4" to a 1/8" cord) but even when I plug it in my Mac just records through the speakers. Is there something I can do to record a cleaner, clearer sound?

No, speakers "can't hear anything". Your Macbook is trying to use it's built-in Microphone which is NOT how you want to do this. So, you have to learn how to use GarageBand FIRST.

Open Garage Band, then click on the Help Tab and click on: "GarageBand Getting Started". There's a whole section explaining how to use "Real Instruments" and one on "Connecting Music equipment to your Computer".

Now its much more specific than that. Basically I play counterstrike and I would like to be able to play music through the microphone. I need a program that will take whatever is playing through the speakers and trick the computer into thinking it is being recorded. So for example, if I open up windows voice recorder and I have a song playing and I hit record, it will be recording that song playing.

Again read carefully, I am not in need of a program that simply records whatever is playing through the speaker.
