Sound bars are really new technology for speakers and have become popular because they match your TV so well and most can be connected directly to your TV which is easy to set up and requires no other equipment. The downside is that the quality of sound is poor compared to really good full home theater systems that have 7 speakers and a subwoofer. Plus and amplifier. It really is the preferred option for most people but be prepared to spend more to get that convenience.

Whats the best route for wiring speakers from the sound bar to the head unit in this model? There are no speakers in it now so ill be wiring this from scratch.
I did one on an older jeep with a roll bar, but the roll bar had a padded cover on it. I was able to run the wires under the carpet around the firewall on the passenger side. You might have to remove the passenger seat and the splash plate on the passenger side to get under the carpet. I loomed all the wire and taped up the end where I started. As I went along, I placed every so often a zip tie to hold the speaker wire inside the loom. At the bottom of the roll bar, I was able to run it up inside the padding and connect it to the speaker bar. On another I did that didn't have the padding, I had to drill a hole on the top of the roll bar, use a rubber grommet to surround the hole that I made, and with the use of a coat hanger, was able to slide it down the hole till it reached the bottom of the roll bar. Depending on your setup, the roll bar will have a small gap on the bottom of it, where you can then remove the splash guard and the passenger seat and run your wire under the carpet....loomed of course and where you won't step all over it, out of the way. I would recommend two people when pulling the wire through the hole on top of the roll bar, so you don't stretch it if it gets into a bind. If you don't have a gap on the bottom of the roll bar, I've had to remove the roll bar and with a dremel tool make my necessary opening. Also, I would use a little bit of clear silicon to fill up the hole you made with the gromet on the top of the roll bar so water doesn't get into the roll bar if you drive the jeep with the top off.
One thing you might want to consider, which I've done with one jeep that didn't have a light on the speaker bar, was I went ahead and ran a small power wire with the speakers wires, which powered some LED lights that I installed on one of the speaker bars for a jeep I did. The LED's don't take alot of power to run, so the wire was pretty small, so not to cause any interference or noise with the signal to the speakers. Good Luck!
if i buy all of these things i just want to know if sound will come out of all of them when hooked up to my TV, playstation 3, and 360
I would use one or the other. Soundbars are meant to imitate a 5.1 surround sound system. But I personally would just go with a good 5.1 setup.
I'm thinking of buying one with a sub-woofer. I'm not into the high tech, 6 plus speakers, high end receiver stuff anymore...been there, done that. I'm in a situation where I want the best possible sound with as little clutter in my living room as possible. How good is the virtual surround sound technology these days? Can you give me links to some good sound bar systems?
Thank you.

Go figure! lol
I have a PS3 and an LCD HDTV also. I will be watching plenty of Blu Ray movies. Can sound bars come close to replicating true Dolby-HD?
You cannot use the un-compressed BlueRay sound with a sound bar - None of them accept HDMI or 6 descret analog inputs which are the only way to get the un-compressed sound to an amp.
You also have to be careful because many of the soundbars do NOT even accept optical or coaxial-digital. Only stereo (aka ProLogic)
Make sure you read the fine print and if the Soundbar does NOT take optical - it cannot really simulate a 5.1 speaker array.
In general - the better soundbars are getting good reviews are ARE a good choice for simpler systems/parent systems where they do not want the clutter or complexity.

Seven-channel sound bar speaker system promises enveloping sound ...
Atlantic Technology claims its FS-7.0 Surround Bar is the first loudspeaker capable of reproducing all seven channels of a home theater soundtrack from a single wall-mountable enclosure. A matching 8-inch powered subwoofer will be offered for optimal integration with the FS-7.0.
A lot of very expensive soundbars are either tweeterless, or include just one tweeter, like Bowers & Wilkins' $2,200 Panorama. The FS-7.0's front baffle includes three 1-inch soft dome tweeters, for the front left, center, and right channels. The front panel also has a pair of 4x6-inch woofers.
Surround channels use full-range 3.25-inch drivers mounted on the sides of the cabinet. The Atlantic Technology FS-7.0 and SB-800 compact theater system will be available this month at suggested retail prices of $800 for the FS-7.0 in Gloss Black and $300 for the SB-800 subwoofer in matte black.
