I got told to swap the "Negative's" around on the 6x9's in the boot, this will make sound louder, is this true?If not, how?
yea i had some guy off the street tell me that before too...but it was something to do with connecting the orginal speaker wires to the amp out puts for my speakers and what not..i don't really know what it was exactly...anyway the point...
i brought it up to my guy that taught me all the bases to my knowledge on car audio...all he had to say was not to do it because it will can cause damage to my system...so thats all i can say for you is don't worry about trying to rig anything up that isn't "natural"

I have 6.75" Pioneer Premier component speakers, TS-A1702C. And a Kicker KX200.4 amp. On the amp, I have the Db crossover thing (sorry i'm new with speakers) set at about 85Db. The main speakers are located in the rear deck facing up and the tweeters are up in the front near the top of the kick panels facing about the center of the car, a little over mid-level. the tweeters are reversed in polarity right now, but it seems like it doesn't sound as good as before. Could all the extra wire have already delayed the sound enough? And where should my amp db setting be? And How bad is my speaker placement?? (Just for info). And what all could I do to help with this setup? I have no subs right now. And also, my gain on the amp is set at half, if I go any higher, the speakers will distort. Is this because my amp is not high enough quality? Because it is a 4-channel 200 watt amp, and is not bridged. Cause it seems like the speakers could go more. And I don't think it would be my wire because my RCA's are Monster cables (the red, low class wires). I'm just looking for some answers, thanks.
I did not put the mid speakers up front because here was not enough room behind the kick panels and I don't want a big ugly pod. And also, my car is acoustically challenged (haha). It is a 70's plymouth, so there is not alot of padding everywhere. I have put some stuff underneath my carpet that helps muffle sound/add padding, and it has helped some. But what else should I insulate? The doors? The roof? And since the back of the speakers in the rear deck are inside a big hollow trunk, does that affect performance? Any tips will help.
And sorry for the long question, I'd rather ask it all at once rather than asking 4 or more separate questions.
Change back the polarity on the tweeters first off, next I'd dynamat around the speakers. Go and have your wiring looked at by a professional, since i can't see your setup, it's harder to diagnose

I have a 4 channel profile amplifier and a kenwood receiver. My front speakers are powered by the kenwood. My rear 6X9's are powered by the profile (1 channel each) and then I have a subwoofer bridged. All cables are hooked up. The amps green power light blinks but a main power light in the middle does not turn on. I only hear sound out of my front speakers so no sound through the amp. Does anyone have an idea why?
Sounds like maybe the ground isn't hooked up properly, or maybe your remote turn on....make sure the ground is connected, to unpainted steel on the car, and you have the remote turn on connected the the blue wire coming out of the head unit.
This speaker is a Mono speaker but sound is fantastic so was thinking of buying two of these and wiring a sort of bridge between the laptop/ipod headphone socket and 2 3.5mm pins that these X-Mini's use.
They just launched a stereo version called x-mini max, pretty cool......
