ok so i got this old sound design speaker i plug it in to the back of my samsung tv to the audio plugs and it works but the sound wont go up or down when i change the volume is there any way to change the volume?
your audio output is fixed (means it isnt adjustable) most tv's now have an option between a fixed or variable audio output. go into the audio menu on your tv, see if you can change the audio output to variable, this will enable you to adjust the speaker volume using the tv remote
A collection of speaker design. thank you and Enjoy. Picture for reference only
Not sure if I can explain this how I want to, let me try.
We're buying a new house and I'm going to get the builders to wire in cables for surround sound. They offer a package with speakers which are set flush into the wall, but they look terrible and I'd rather have some control over the quality of speaker I buy.
I've heard it said that the speakers should be positioned at more or less head height, for when you're viewing the screen sitting down - so the sound is project on the same level as your ears.
My questions is in two parts really:
1. Would it work if I put speakers up in the corners of the room near the ceiling, then angled down into the room slightly ... i.e. so the sound is projected towards a central point on the wall opposite the TV, where I'll be sitting on my sofa?
2. Are there any speakers which are designed to fit in an upper corner like that? I'd imagine the back would be somewhat triangular, and perhaps the front would be more spherical?
your front speaker should be some where around where your ears are when you sit down, as if someone was talking to you
the back speakers can be any where, in the celling, in the walls, on the walls, they are for effect, and nobody is talking to you behind you head
Theil makes a 10,500 souround sound unit that Sound and Vision just loved and they are all celling and just what you are looking for
now celling speakers have movable tweeters that can point at you to make the illionsion that it is in the right spot
you could also put your 2 fronts pointing at you from the top and on the center on top of the TV or below the TV you center channel can sit

I do not get good sound in the rear speakers when I use stereo speakers -sansui sp7500 - for the front speakers.Do i need to upgrade to speakers designed for surrond sound?
Your issue stems from a system that is not timbre' matched

I'd go with Boston of Diamond also.
The design entails what speakers to use, amplifiers, sound mixers, microphones, etc. how do you interconnect these with each other?
The previous contributor is right in saying that gyms pose special challenges.
It all depends how deep you want to go.
I do not recommend the Fender at all. It will do the job, but that is about all. It is designed for mobile guitarists and such playing in small bars.
You could put wall or ceiling mount speakers throughout the hall. This means that the people near the front do not go deaf from being exposed to very high volume while those at the back think they are deaf because it's still not loud enough for them.
If you are doing just speeches, the ceiling/wall mount speakers will do fine and will minimize the echo issue.
If you are finding it hard to understand what people are saying there are special systems done by JBL, among other that have "intelligibility" processors. These are basically compressor/limiters to equalize the levels with different speakers who may not speak very well into the mike. They also use a "parametric eq effect" meaning they boost frequencies that are different between words, while cutting frequencies (mostly bass) that are present in all words.
If echo does become an issue then you need a digital delay processor. This will mean the speaker at the front will get the sound later than the ones at the rear.
FOR A DIGITAL DELAY PROCESSOR TO WORK ALL SPEAKERS MUST MUST MUST BE POINTING IN THE SAME DIRECTION.
Behringer do The Shark. This will also prevent feedback and is a nifty unit. However when it does prevent feedback the sound becomes unuseable and you will need an operator to correct both the speaker's technique and reset the unit. It does not prevent feedback in a way that you can just turn it on and forget it.
The benefit is though that feedback damages speakers and humans. Feedback is a major mystery source of high frequency hearing loss. Each encounter damages the hearing only minimally, but it clocks up eventually.
If you go for lots of ceiling speakers, you will need to use 70v line (or in some countries, it's 100v line...same idea). Explanation here http://www.epanorama.net/documents/audio /70volt.html
However 70v line is not suited to music or theatre.
Hope all this helps.

LaCie offers up gigantic #39;Sound2′ laptop speakers
Which, translated, means “Them’s some big speakers right there.” They ought to be able to push out some decent sound, too, at 15 watts apiece.
You can plug the $99 speakers directly into your laptop via USB or there’s a line-in jack as well in case you want to hook up your Diamond Rio MP3 player or whatever the cool MP3 player is nowadays.
Should be available soon, although LaCie’s product page says they’re out of stock at the moment.
