The speakers are 15 inches, the horns about 6X8 inches. the speaker sounds muffled, as if it were covered by a box or something. The speaker itself has sound and vibrates in and out when I press my hand to it. But, the horn has no sound at all. All of the wires are in place and are okay, everything connected properly. Is there a way that I can repair the horn? I don't know anyone in my area that repairs speakers. Who should I call? A tv repairman? Any tips? thanks.
sometimes you can repair a speaker,if you know what your doing. You can replace it though. Try www.usaspeaker.com /they may have something that will match up. If you can't find exact replacement its best to replace both horns so the sound the same.

There are some companies around that rebuild old speakers, but as I recall Magnepans are highly unusual speakers with flat panel tweeters. You might actually have better luck trying to find an old pair on eBay and just swapping the speaker.

The built in speakers on my laptop don't work whenever i play music or watch shows. Is there any way that i can repair this problem? (also if this involves a sound card can you please tell me where to find it)? My laptop's system is Microsoft XP, Media Center Edition, Version 2002.
You can't repair any speaker. You can plug in new ones. Your laptop probably has an Audio Out jack on the back where you can plug in some speakers. The sound card is probably built into your motherboard so if it's bad, well, you'll need to replace the motherboard. That is the drawback to owning a laptop, you can't replace many parts like on a desktop where you can replace the video card, the sound card, and in some cases, the network interface, and any other options that plug in.

Yeah you can use USB speakers (hopefully they come with the drivers). That is if you don't mind lugging them all around. You could also use Bluetooth speakers/headphones if your computer has bluetooth.
