After listening to music beginning April, 2 days later we had no sound. Had just moved house. At previous address had AOL as broadband supplier . Have been told this may have caused a conflict. We swopped to BT. Have dug deep into system/program/driver files. Have asked friends/relations who are 'experts'. Can't afford to pay full repairs at moment. Anyone any ideas please. have been warned I may have to strip to factory settings. Everything else works fine! {Speakers hum so something's getting through - they do work have tested!] Have done defrag and system checks, downloaded spyware checkers etc etc etc. Not daft but feel it!
I think you have an internal problem. It means that there is something wrong inside the computer where the cables are. Open up your computer and clean out the dust in there or see if there are broken cables.
confusedchris, I have sended you an e-mail with another answer.
Please rate this song (test-song)! Thanks. Ok, I think this is a very good way to test your speakers. Check it out .... ** 7.1 C Soundscape
They usually work fine suddenly one day theres no sound when I try to play music or even the windows login music.
Speakers work I've tested them, but when plugged into PC there's no sound. What do I do I'm getting so annoyed now because I've tried everything.
make sure your sound card is working. also, when i had musicmatch on my old computer, if that volume was turned down, it somehow overrode all other control. for example, if i turned down the volume of a song, i couldnt hear anything else on the computer, even with the volume all the way up.

Whenever i try to listen to music on my computer the speakers seem to "lock-out"....there's no sound coming from them. I've configured the speakers so that they are compatible with Media player but that does not seem to help. Is anyone familiar with computers?
If it is only Media Player that you are having issues with then I have to wonder if you have muted media player. There is a little speaker icon a the bottom of media player. If you click this it will mute or un-mute the application.

How to Skew a Blind Listening Test — Reviews and News from Audioholics
We've talked a lot about how to set up a listening test on this website. There has been a lot of buzz lately on the results of the Paradigm blind listening tests results. For those that aren't in the know, Paradigm put some of their least expensive ($300/pair) bookshelf speakers in a number of blind tests with a pair of speakers that cost over $1000 (reportedly B&Ws) and another cheaper pair of speakers (reportedly Klipsch). A reporter over at CEPro wrote up their experience. Let's be clear that we are NOT saying that Paradigm skewed their tests. We are NOT suggesting that the entire thing was rigged. What we doing is taking this opportunity (striking while the iron is hot so to speak) to talk about how listening tests can be skewed (or affected) both purposefully and accidentally.
