How can you make wired speakers wireless?
Beatbox Portable

I have a 5.1 surround sound system, and all of my speakers are wired directly to my receiver. Is there anyway to make my rear 2 speakers wireless? I.E. They plug into some kind of transmitter (and the transmitter plugs into the wall for power), and there is a receiver plugged into the back of my 5.1 audio receiver?

I use the Rocketfish Universal Rear Speaker Kit. It is exactly how you describe. First, I attach a transmitter to the rear speaker terminals on my a/v receiver. Then I connect the rear speakers to the Rocketfish receiver unit in the back of the room. The Rocketfish requires a power outlet not only for the receiver unit, but also for the sender unit.

I really like this product. At just over $100 it's a bit expensive, but it works perfectly. I have experienced no delay, loss of signal, intereference, buzzing, etc. It has worked perfectly since I've had it. The only complaint I could think of has to do with its power. The unit is limited to about 25 watts/channel. This isn't a problem with my rear speakers, but it might be with yours.

I have 2 bose speakers that i do not use because i hate to have wires running across the room . Is there an adapter or somthing that I can add to reciever and speakers to make them wireless. I do not want to buy a new set of wireless speakers.

Well my parents have a transmitter to send tv signals and audio to another room. A vcr and tv play it there. You could do this but somewhere along the way you'll need an amp/receiver to power the speakers. the unit works with video and audio rca jacks so should work like this.

Looking for a way to make standard home stereo speakers wireless?
Desk

Is there a device that will convert my existing home stereo speakers into wireless? I have a pretty good quality surround sound system, but I am tired of the speaker wires . I need to go wireless, but I want to use my existing speakers. Anyone have any ideas????

The previous responder obviously missed the January 2008 issue of "Home Theater" magazine, which discusses exactly the kind of gear you're looking for.

The magazine reviewed and gave excellent marks to the KEF Universal Wireless Speaker Kit ($600). Similar (but unreviewed) products include the Rocketfish RF-WHTIB Wireless Rear Speaker Kit ($100), the Kenwood RFU-6100 Wireless Amplifier ($300), and the Amphony Model 1550 Digital Wireless Audio Transmitter/Amplifier ($200).

What's the best way to make non-wireless speakers, wireless?
Carbon Fiber Magic Mouse

My parents have a great HTIB but the rear speakers are hard wired. In their old house this was fine because we put the cables under the carpeting but in this house that's impossible because of hardwood floors. So, I was thinking is it possible to make the rear speakers wireless?

Thanks!

Panasonic sells a HTIB that has a built in transmitter for the two rear speakers. But you want to keep what you have.
You could keep your HTIB, discard the 2 rear speakers, buy a wireless transmitter and wireless rear speaker set. Try BestBuy.com search for wireless rear speakers (the link below).

They have a set for about $100.
