you can find all you need there
Ok well if you dont want to dole out the cash for an aftermarket stereo head unit, what you can do is use a high signal imput on the amplifier (comes on most amps) which allows you to tap directly into the speaker wire instead of using RCA cables, so find the wire color code for your car to know which wires are the Right Rear and Left rear (usually the easiest to tap (all you have to do is strip about an inch of it and wrap speaker wire to it and retape it) then you will need to strip the turn on wire and tap that into the amp (usually its called the "ingnition (+12v switched)" (here is site for color codes:http://ccs.exl.info/carwires.html) then you just basically follow the instructions on this video for power wire install:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOEsJUidf _0 in that video it explains the rca wiring method instead of the method I explained involving the high signal imput. Hope this info helps you.
also ps: sound quality is better with a stock head unit and good speakers vs. good head unit with stock speakers

The stereo has 3 pairs of pre-amp outputs plus a sub pre-amp output. The pre-amp voltage is 5 volts. My amplifier's input voltage is 14.4V and the output is 160 volts max per channel, with 4 channels output. If I have a 6 speaker car, how do I hook up the amplifier, and how do I hook up the subwoofer? Also, if I have 6+1 outputs on the stereo, how do I connect those with the amplifier?
The output of your cars radio has nothing to do with your amp....for the most part. The high output of the deck just means you will get a better signal at your amp and a cleaner sound. Your amp is rated up to 14.4 volts DC input from the battery but chances are it will only see around 12volts or so. I believe you meant to say that your amp is 160 watts per channel. Chances are if it does not say 160watts RMS then it is just peak power and chances are you will never see it.

I was considering upgrading my 6-disc changer to an Onkyo DX 7555 because it apparently is a better sounding CD player.
Now most people that review this CD player say they are powering it with an Onkyo A-9555 integrated stereo amplifier because they claim it sounds almost "tube like."
I plan on or was planning on picking up an Onkyo SR606 HT receiver for my new HT setup. What is the best way to power a CD player like the DX7555 and good stereo speakers for the best sound quality?
Separate amplifiers tend to sound a little better than integrated receivers, but that also depends on the quality overall. Most seperate systems start getting pricey and the quality is usually high. Typically one would have a preamp and amplifier(s). The A-9555 is an integrate amplifier, meaning it has a preamp built in.
The 9555 is a little bit more expensive than the 606. One thing the 9555 will lack in compared to the 606 is bass management, in case you are using a subwoofer. I don't see a subwoofer output on that model.
What I would do is audition the A-9555 along with a TX-SR606 and see if you can hear the difference. You gain a lot of other features with the 606 (like a radio tuner, and possible use as a 5.1 or 7.1 channel system), so if your ear is happy with it you save $$$ and have a more versatile product. Step up to the 706 and you would have a THX Select2 certified receiver with Audyssey MultEQ auto setup (makes a nice difference in sound I think).
My amplifier is a Multi Dynamic System (sweden made) with these specifications;
- 254 watts -- 2 x 127 4 ohms
- 150 watts RMS -- 2 X 75 WRMS thd 0.04%
- 2 omhs stability Mosfet High power
- Built in subwoofers crossover and subwoofer out.
With the 2x127 at 4 ohms you could run 2 Rockford P1s, but what I would do is run 2 JL 8W3v2s because you wouldn't be overpowering them as much. But there are probably as many options for your configuration as there are companies that make subwoofers. Can it run your stereo speakers too? No. If it is truly a 2 channel like you say it is then it could run 2 or your 4(I'm guessing that you have 4 stereo speakers). So if you want to amplify both then you will need to purchase another amp.
