what is the name of that fabric and where I can get it?
you know the subs they put in to the cars in the truck to bump that bass that kind of fabric I'm talking about.

funny thing is....its actually called "box carpet" lol. it comes in different colors and u can usually find it at any upholstery/fabric shop. if not, Crutchfield stocks it in many colors...

I have an old stereo system that came with 5 lovely speakers. They are VERY large and UGLY!! I would like to make some kind of a cover for the 2 largest ones. Any thoughts?

I have one that is Huge. so I put a light colored cloth over it and use it for keeping misc. junk on. The cloth does not interrupt the sound in anyway that I can notice, and looks just fine I used silk, and it's attractive in it's own right.

We have stereo/surround sound speakers on top of our entertainment center which were splashed with candle wax. The wax has dried onto the cloth covering on the speaker. Anyone have a way to get rid of it without ruining the speaker?

can you take a putty knife and get it up gently that way.

Get candle wax off a stereo speaker cover and carpet?
Anyone have any idea's beside using a iron/towel which I do not own. (iron)

My grandpa owns a vintage RCA record player/8 track/stereo that I'm interested in owning and restoring one day. All I know about it is that it is in a black wooden case, has a red velvety cloth covering the speakers, is about 2.5 to 3 feet high and it opens from the top. He said it's from about 1965-66. Can anyone tell me what the name of it might be? Like the model or whatever?

It's hard to say. The model number on RCA sets is usually either on a paper sticker on the back of the console, or is rubber-stamped on the back. I can tell you this...If it's black and has red velvety stuff over the speakers, it's from the mid seventies. Eight track players did not become popular in consoles till the early seventies. RCA made hundreds of different stereo console models in the sixties through the early eighties.These old consoles can sound nice (LOTS of bass!) and they are usually easy to fix up.True audio fanatics hate them, but they have warm, rich sound that's perfect for vintage vinyl.
