Stereo Speakers Design

I do not get good sound in the rear speakers when I use stereo speakers -sansui sp7500 - for the front speakers.Do i need to upgrade to speakers designed for surrond sound?

Its one thing to have a basic digital photo frame but its another when yours comes with audio speakers. The Transcend TS2GPF720K 7 Digital Frame ...

I have some smaller models on my wall (less than 20#), but here's what I did:

I took screw-in hooks -- the kind that swivel, for the backs of picture frames, and screwed them into the 4 corners of the back of the speakers. Then I put pan-head screws in the wall with anchor bolts (or right into the stud) at the 4 places where the speaker corners would be. The alignment has to be pretty close. Make sure that the pan-heads fit into the swivel loops.

Then, simply hang the speaker on the wall.

I have a TEAC ref 500 system, and a VRDS9 CD player. I am keen to invest in the optimum stereo speakers to reflect the quality of my system, without wanting to waste money on speakers that are designed to go with much higher end equipment. Someone recommended the KEF IQ5SE at £400, but what else should I consider? Am hapy with stand or floor mounted. Thanks!!

See review number 5 on this link. They have bought KEF Q15 speakers for the same system you have.

I was at Bestbuy today and noticed that some of the mini systems from Philips and Panasonic have the power supply built into one of the speakers. In other words, you plug the speaker into the wall outlet and then run an extra wire to the control unit for power. Why not just keep the power supply inside the control unit where it belongs? I wanted to mount my system on the wall, but with this design, I'd have a fat power cord running to one of the speakers and an extra wire heading back to the control unit.

Depending on the size of the main unit it could very well be to keep the size of the system down. Since the speakers are big enough to enclose the converter without too much work it could be that or they need to keep the heat inside the unit down.

Hi, i have just bought a surround sound system; 35 watt(input) 4 ohm Sub and 5 speakers 40watt(input) 6 ohm, could i buy and use an amplifier designed for 8 ohm speakers... if not what would be the best amplifier to get?
my speakers are matsui model sp-vd10ht(max 40 watts) and my sub is a lenoxx sound sp-6 (max 35 watts)

In order to use a separate amplifier, your current receiver has to have preamplifier outputs. There should be jacks on the back that say preamp output, or a set that will say Left, Center, Right (etc.) output (NOT input...that is a 7.1 analog input). If you have this, then you need to figure out your budget. On the cheap side, I like the Behringer A-500. 150 watts/ch, very solid. Runs about $200.
In the mid range, I like the QSC pro amps and the Parasound Halo amps ($500-$2000). Above that, I like the Bryston amps ($1300-$15000) though I suspect you'd probably upgrade what you have first.
