Stereo Speakers Parts

I recently got a really nice stereo, but sadly I'll never use it as is. I don't own any CD's really, so I figured maybe they'd make really nice computer speakers. I was wondering what parts I would need (Link to a radioshack page for each part would be excellent. Someone I talked to IRL mentioned a stereo adapater (Cable? Or a part? Not sure) and a Stereo Patch Cable (Dunno what that is either).

The stereo itself has the two red/white input thingies on the front. Thanks.

I use my stereo for computer speakers.

You can buy a cable that has one end like the end of ipod headphones, and the other end has two ends (white and red) that plugs into your stereo (assuming the stereo has these plugs). The other end you plug into your computers headphone jack.

Well i have a 1995 subaru legacy ls, and the right front speaker is blown out. I want to replace the factory speakers, as well as the factory stereo. Im just not really sure on what to do, or what to ask for if i went to adavanced auto parts or some store like that. Any recomandations as to what i should buy ? I would like to keep it to about 200 dollars.. and i tend to shy away from the internet sites.. so thanks for all your help.

If you would like to get all new speakers and a new head unit i would suggest going to a best buy or local area electronics store. Advanced auto parts stuff is cheap i will admit but you get what you pay for. If you go to Best Buy i would suggest a Pioneer 1900 and probably some infinity speakers...you will probably be looking at around 300 though so if you are insisting on keeping it around 200 stay with the pioneer deck and get some cheaper speakers like dual or insignia (best buy exclusive brand but made by power acoustic so they are decent.) The reason I say go with pioneer is because it is cheap and its has great quality and is very user friendly. Infinity speakers are really clear and definately are worth the money. i want to put a speaker in my locker can i put a headphone male end (the stickingout part) on the end of the stereo wire and then plug it in to my psp and listen to music

YES,JUST BE SURE FRIENDS RUNNING WIRE OVER.tTHIS KEEP THE VOLUME LOW AS IF YOU WERE THERE.JUST PLUG RIPS AND FRITES OPEN ON A FRIDAY !
