Stereo Speakers Set

After you set up stereo speakers in you school music room, you notic that in certain areas of the room the sound front the speakers is very loud adn in other areas the sound is very soft. Please explain how interference causes this.

It may be that the speakers are out of phase which can happen if the terminals are hooked up backwards on one speaker and correctly on the other. That can set up an interference pattern as the speaker cones are driven exactly opposite one another, allowing the blended sounds to cancel each other out. But if set up properly, that should not happen, unless the recording you are playing produces the same effect.

I have too many audio components for one receiver but only want one set of speakers for both receivers.

I agree whole heartedly with Gen. However, if you're hell bent on having the tallest stack of rack gear on the block, Hook the "Tape out" of the least powerful receiver to the "Tape in" of the most powerful receiver. In this way you're only using the second receiver as a component switch.

I have a great pair of Bose stereo bookshelf speakers that I am not using right now, and I need better computer speakers. Any idea on how to use the Bose speakers on my computer?
I can't do that, the only connection on the Bose speakers is "speaker wire", and I can't plug that right into my computer.

If you mean the red and black wires.. then you cannot do it.

There is no simple adaptor.

And such speakers require some power, more than can be easily supplied by the audio out jack, which is suitable for earphones and small speakers only (very low volume). Or speakers with their own power source (which your Bose speakers are not).

I remember that creative used to sell a amplifier that plugged into the PC and you could connect Bose speakers to that. But it has probably gone out of style as high quality PC speakers have gotten really cheap.

What does it mean when a car with shady people inside pulls up to you and says: "Do you want to buy stereo speakers? I'm delivering stereo speakers and they accidently gave me an extra box of stereo speakers its in my trunk!"

This happen to me almost verbatim 3 times when I am walking down the street some where. It happened in Tucson, Arizona , Pomona, California and even Newport Beach.

Sounds like they want you to join the other three dead bodies in the trunk!

We're building a home with sets of speakers in 2 rooms and surround sound TV in a third room. We have an Onkyo home theater stereo, but it only has speaker outputs A and B. We don't need to spend a million dollars, we're just looking for the best way to get sound to the total of three rooms. It doesn't need to be different music in the different rooms, either. Is there a simple switch one can buy to send the signal either to one room or the other, or do you need to get the multi-room amps, etc? Thanks.

With out seeing what receiver you have it is impossible to say, but if you had two totally different output options, and I have not seen one yet, but it couble be possible. What I think you will have to do is have two receivers, 1 with surround options for the TV 5.1 (6 speakers total 6 seperate outputs for each of the 6 speakers) and another that has stereo outputs for at least 4 speakers or 2 and double up wiring on 2 but you need to check the receivers wattage to match speakers. (ex. you do not want a 200 watt system using 4 100 watt speakers)

Set up the 5.1 surround for TV viewing (to get true surround you need all speakers placed correctly in room with TV.

Set up the extra receiver and run wires to the other rooms for speaker placement. Keep in mind that the other rooms will be only good for stereo applications (ex. CD,radio...)

If you are trying to use the 5.1 (6 speaker set-up) in all three rooms you will not get the true surround feel in TV room and also certain speakers are responsible for certain sounds in 5.1 mode, although you could place the receiver in a different mode to get the stereo sounds in all speakers except the sub-woofer.
