Stereo Speakers Setup

Ok, I have a new Vizio LCD TV and an old AIWA stereo with 2 speakers. The speakers if i can remember have one red and one black wire (nothing attached at end of the wires). The stereo itself has clips to hold the wires (not sure about other inputs). Im just wondering whether or not if its possible to use the stereo with the speakers to listen to tv broadcasts. If so, what materials do I need and where do I hook it up to.

You need to find out if the Aiwa is able to accept audio input from the TV (Look on the back of the Aiwa). If so, it's a matter of buying the correct cable.

have one of your friends do it. if your gonna pay alot of money i suggest you go to circut city and have them do it because they will give u a warranty on anything that goes wrong. maybe 125

I would like to connect two dual voice coil speakers in a home setup with one in a bathroom and one in the hallway. Can I connect both in either parallel or in series or combination of both to one set of speaker output (R & L) in my stereo sys (Speaker B)? Of course without damaging the amp because of impedance issue. Thanks for your help.... in advance.

I am not sure how possible it is without damaging your amp. There is a book that radio shack sells and it was really helpful to me years ago when I set up mine. I dont remember the title of the book, but it was home theater wiring.

what would be the best way to get a stereo setup with either two guitar amps, an amp and two speakers, or just two speakers. the key here is i'm using guitar rig (amp modelling software) on a laptop computer.

is it crucial that the speakers (if needed) be powered?
is it better to have a powered amp instead of powered speakers?

Chris - The speaker you need will depend on the size of the room you are playing in. If you are just connecting the output of the laptop to the speakers, pretty much any pair of powered speakers will work well. You will need a simple 3.5mm to 1/4 inch cable:

It might help to get a small mixer too. That way you can control the volume better.
