Suround Sound Speakers

i bought them old but i don't think that's the problem.my center speaker once blew out cause i had it too loud accidently,but after a few days it went back to normal,and now it works fine.how do i get my other four speakers working right,or are they just old.

You said the speakers are "old". I would check the connections on each speaker cabinet. And if you can get to it, the internal wiring to the cone from the connector. I have an older speaker that sometimes is cranky, and has low sound. It is in the ceiling so I can't get to it. As an alternative, I have to turn up the volume to get the signal to "get through" and then the volume is fine.
Additional: Can you check the gain on your amplifier. If you can up the gain, but then adjust down the channel volume (it takes a mixer type set up for this) you can keep the signal stronger to that speaker.

An RCA jack is the mid-size jack/plug. Basically there are 3 sizes, phono or 1/4", RCA, and mini. Your basic red white yellw cords are rca.

I do not like the equilizer for my suround sound, so i want to use my t.v speakers. when i plug in the colored wires to the back of my t.v from the dvd player, there is still no sound. do i need to get a special cable? Or am i just missing a step?

Connect composite cables ( red & white ) output from DVD to TV input. You have to change audio setting on DVD menu.

I want to buy another pair of speakers and the cords are to long, can i buy an extension cord for them because i don't want to spend like $100 on wireless speakers.

uhm.. speakers dont come with speaker cables.. with the exception of them theater in a box..

buy speaker and get speaker cable in a spool and cut to length.. unless you DO have the theater in a box and you have the speaker that has a composite jack at the end.. then you need to do some work by rewiring the wires..

I have a really nice set of Dell 5.1 surround sound speakers lying around and I was wondering if there was any way that I could possible hook my Zune up to them, even though it only has one 3.5 mm jack for output while the speakers use three?
