My surround sound speakers are not working on my computer?

I have two surround speakers plugged in to my computer and plugged in to the mains socket they are on as i constantly hear a buzzing sound but they only seem to work when i test them on realtek HD audio manager and when i play a youtube video i only hear the sound coming out of my Monitor that has built in speakers how do you get my surround speakers to play sound apart from when i test them

It's obvious that there either in the wrong port or the port there connected to is not set up for output. First of all make sure its in the green jack. If that doesn't work or you have already done that use the software and set it up or google it. Thanks

Dolby Digital Surround 5.1 Speakers Test

This video is provided by Dolby Digital to check if your 5.1 Speakers are working properly.

Where can I download a surround sound speakers tester?

I need one that will test all of my speakers because I need to find out if my back two speakers need to be switched. This test needs to specify which speaker that the sound will come out of. Please and thank you.

If they are hooked up to a receiver the receiver has testing capabilities

Is it worth it to buy a surround sound test cd to calibrate my surround system?

I just got it installed (I did it myself). The wires were pre-run by my builder and labeled, but I'm not sure they were labeled correctly. Will the test CD help me figure out if the correct sound is coming from the correct speakers? Thanks.
It is a Sony "home theatre in a box".

it is best to check the polarity of the wires with a continuity (ohm) meter. Red connector on speaker to red connector on the receiver, and so on.

the test cd will help you setting up the sound so that the sound is at the same loudness level at your favorite listening position. to do this right, you need a sound level meter, about $30 at radio shack.

avia makes the best audiio-visual test dvd.

How do I play stereo sound through surround sound speakers?

This is the set up I have:

PC with 7.1 sound card. I have connected a 5.1 surround to Front, Center/Sub, Rear. I have also fed the side speaker output via an amp to some PA system type larger speakers.

I want to get all of the speakers on the left playing the same sound, and all the speakers on the right playing the same. Effectively just stereo sound. I have searched and searched on google but can't find any solutions.

I can get them all playing sound, and in th speaker tests they are fine. When I try to play music, the rear + side speakers play weirdly, I think the computer is trying to simulate 7.1 surround from the stereo signal.

Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated! :D

Your sound card would need the ability to simulate stereo sound on all channels. This would be a software setting on your video card interface software. Just like a DVD player, you would need to change the simulation from Dolby Digital to Stereo in order to get sound out of all the speakers.

Computer/5.1 Surround Sound Speakers Delimma?

I have a 5.1 surround sound speakers thats computer compatible, and i have it hooked up correctly as far as i know of. The way it is hooked up, is i'm using the DVD-In on the back on my 5.1 to hook it up to my computer with a 2-In-1 L/R so that i can hook it up to my computer. The speakers use a wire and they are clamped into place on the back of the Subwoofer. When i use my Realtek HD Audio Manager, i have it set to 5.1 Speakers, and when i press play, no sound comes out of the subwoofer(not certain if sound is suppose to come out of it, but i'm guess it is suppose to) during the sound test. When i do the sound test and it gets to the rear speakers, the front speakers play in their place, also i think they are also playing for the center, unless the center can come out sound like its on the left or right, when i do the audio adjustment to the left/right(and i don't think its suppose to).

My question is, how do i get my rear/subwoofer/center to work like they are suppose to.
Disregard that, i found that they do work. To make sure, i switched channels on it. But i do have a new question. For a 10 by 11 room, with the front/center speakers closer and the rear speakers further because i have my computer in the corer, but i am almost at the center of the room. What is the best sound effect to use to get really good 5.1 surround sound, you know the kind that makes it sound almost like you are in the movie, the one that sounds like if you heard something from a distance it would sound like its coming from a distance, like if you were on a street and you heard a car in the distance and its coming closer, i want it to sound something like that, only i want it to do that in my room.

Also with discibles the higher the louder or lower. And as far as Room Correction goes, does higher the distance make it sound closer or further.

I'm basically trying to get the ultimate 5.1 surround sound for my room. I want to feel like i'm in the movie with the action.

Place your subwoofer for a fast and tight bass response. You can search for tips to place the subwoofer in the already answered questions here.

Check the phase of the Subwoofer and switch to the better response.

Fine tune your system using calibration discs available in the market.

Just one last suggestion - You'll get better sound from a dedicated home theater system rather than from 5.1 computer speakers.

Cars that give the driver a little excitement behind the wheel. There are times however, when I would prefer to be driving something more refined and more comfortable. The type of car that my fancy-loafer wearing Garage co-worker seems to prefer. I want something that is pleasing to my passengers as well as pleasing to me. The Lexus LS 460 provides me with the comfort I am looking for and the pleasurable ride-along experience I want to provide for my passengers. At the same time, it also has power on reserve if my right foot gets bored and I want to push the go-fast pedal a little harder. Inside the Lexus, the interior is top notch with heated and cooled front leather seats with memory settings....
