Surround Sounds Speakers

Hi I have 38'' Philips HDTV/LCD with 768P. I want to upgrade my HDTV with surround sound speakers that supports 5.1 threw 7.1 sound. Which speakers should I buy? I heard that Boss it is good right?

First of all Bose is not the best. People think they are because of tv commercials but once you listen its clear they aren't. They best speaker makers around that aren't ridiculously priced are:

Infinity
JBL
difinitive tech.
polk
klipsch

There are a couple others but you have to listen for yourself because people have different tastes. You will find that $400 speakers from many makers sound better than $700 bose speakers. DONT LISTEN TO SALESPEOPLE!!! Listen to the speakers

What kind o surround sound speakers should I get? I'm looking into buying an LCD TV, about 32 inches. I need speakers for them and i'm asking here if there are any type i should be looking for.

I;m not speaking types of brands like sony but rather compatible types of surround speakers with an LCD TV.

I'll most likely get 5.1 surround sound speakers...anything i should keep in mind with inputs or are they all they same...?

I have a Sony 40W2000 LCD TV and a Sony 5.1 home cinema kit. I also have Sky HD. What cable do I need to get 5.1 sound out of my subwoofer and surround sound speakers from a Sky TV programme if it is broadcast in 5.1.

Also where does the cable connect to and from. Will a HDMI cable do it all or do I need a separate optical cable. Can you give me the exact name of the cable as it seems some retailers sell cables under different names.

as long as your home cinema kit has opticial in, then there is no problems

Just plug the optiacl from the sky hd box into the home cinema kit.

I just installed a 5.1 logitech surround sound sytem on my HP computer. How do i make them sound good cause the rear ones are kinda crackelly.?

Generally the rear speakers are given less sound. You can change it to suit you. Also rear speakers are given 2ms audio delay for perfect coordination. If you plan to use them also in the front make it 0ms, and set all speaker volumes to same level except the woofer and center, basically the front and rear being same and the center and woofer being different. In the audio settings of windows you can see volume for each speaker (Control Panel > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices > click Sounds and Audio Devices > click speaker volume), if not in logitech, but the delay will be only in Logitech panel.

But if you paln to use rear speakers in the rear only keep the delay, but can increase the volume to sound good.

at max $250(+tax s&h) it needs to have 5 speakers and great sound
