Wireless Computer Speakers

I'd like to get my husband a wireless surround sound speaker system in the same room as our tv/stereo for Christmas. AND be able to play all of our cds that have been downloaded to our computer.

I'm a little confuesd by the wording of the question, but i think this will help.

if you want to be able to play your music from your comptuer to your home theator (stereo) system and you have a wireless network you might want to try the soundbridge 1001, it will let you stream to your stero reciever wirelessly or via cat 5 cable and control from the soundbridge unit. However it can NOT play music purchased from the iTunes store. If you want to be able to use music from the iTunes store you need to get a Airport express (w/ air tunes) from apple. The airport express is wireless or throught cat 5 as well and can also be used as a print server if you so desire (i use it for both) If you get an airport and want to stream like rhapsody to your speakers you can get a program called airfoil that will stream i believe any music source to your airport express. The only downside is you must control the music selection from the computer, but it will play anywhere in your house. It looks like from the airfoil program page shows that you can stream rhapsody or any other music sources to the airport express. The music quality is excilent from the airport express, and as for the soundbridge, its ok. Also if you have a reciever or amp for each set of speakers you could hook an airport up to each one and then choose which one to play through or just select certain ones (multipul or all) to play at the same time. Also if you go visit a bestbuy w/ a magnolia home theator center in it they can be a great help for answering spacific questions. Hope this helps!

I just need a speaker system with the two rear speakers wireless. Or any other suggestions on how to make an exsisting sytem wireless with like add ons or some kind of device? I want it to be a 5.1 system.

There are no specific wireless speakers for Computers, you can use any wireless speakers or headphones, and attach it to your PC sound output, and you can get those from Best Buy, or similar stores…
The speakers does not control the sound system such as 5.1, this option is controlled from your DVD sound options, or other sound utility controlling your PC sound..

I have a desktop computer with tons of mp3 music files on it. I like to be able to enjoy the music in different rooms in my house through speakers without much wiring, if at all. Is it possible?

Wireless speakers can work at least 2 ways:The usual way is by running the speaker output wires into a transmitting device, with the speakers in another room plugged in the receiving device. These devices use a power supply for thier electronics plugged into the wall outlet for current. They then transmit the signals through the air. 2nd way, believe it or not, there are units whereby the transmitting device plugs into the wall outlet, sends the signal through the 120 volt wiring, and in the other room the receiving device plugs in the wall, then filters the signal out of the house wiring, and sends it to the speakers. Weird, but perfectly safe.

I Am having a Cook-Out next weekend and was looking for some wireless speakers to stream music from. Where is a good source that I should look?
edit: Please, I have a low budget and can't get anything OVER 10 bucks. I don't care what quality but I can't spend LOTS of money.

When you say "stream music", I am assuming that you mean from your computer system.

I'd like to buy speakers for my mac, as I want to use it to watch DVDs etc, and wanted a few speakers around the room. I don't want cables everywhere, so does anyone know if I can buy wireless computer speakers that are small.
Also, what sort of price range am I looking at?
