Wireless Outdoor Stereo Speakers

Why doesn’t the transmitter signal form RCA WSP155 900 MHz Wireless AUTO-TUNING Stereo Speakers get received from Brookstone 900 MHz weather-resistant, wireless outdoor speaker and visa versa? Although they are both in the 900 mhz band, they are probably on different frequencies within that band.....close, but no cigar.

Hello Friends ~
A while back, I purchased Sharper Image's Indoor/Outdoor Wireless Mini Speakers (Model No. CT413). When I bought them, I immediately set them up to work with my stereo/cds, but now I forgot how I did it and cannot find my manual...

Does anyone know how to set these up? What do I do? I completely forget how I set them up.

- Plug the transmitter to a power and an audio source.
- Plug the speakers to a power source.
- Press the on/off buttons on each of the speakers (blue LED should light up)
- Play music through the audio source, red and blue LED should light up on transmitter)
- Adjust the volume up on each speaker with the corresponding buttons until you hear music.
- If you don't hear music, click the auto-tune button once on each speaker and retry the volume buttons.

I went to Circuit City last night to see if I could get a good deal on an outdoor wireless speaker (since they're supposedly having a going out of business sale). To my disappointment, they did not have any in stock. The clerk I spoke with told me that they have never carried these in the store because the quality is just not worth the price. I told him I wasn't looking for studio quality, just half-decent quality so that I could listen to my stereo on the patio. I have an Onkyo receiver with A/B speaker switch so that I can listen to music both indoors and outdoors at the same time, or just one or the other. Unfortunately, my outdoor speakers are no longer working (they actually work fine, but the wiring to them is no longer working). So I wanted to buy a wireless outdoor speaker so that I can continue listening to music. The clerk told me that wireless speakers are junk and not worth the purchase. Can anybody tell me if this is actually true?

I have a single channel stereo system in the house that is conected to the box. Can I get a wireless audio tran/reciever connect the transmitter to the cable box and the reciever to a seperate stereo reciever on the deck connected to my outdoor speakers? Picking up the cable channel playing inside and transmiiting the signal out side? Any recommended brands to buy or stay away from?

Keep it simple - just get a separate receiver and split the audio outs from the cable box to both your indoor receiver and the outdoor one. All you need to do this is a pair of RCA "Y" cables available at Radio Shack and elsewhere.

They are probably using different "channels".
900 Mhz is a public band used by wireless phones and other devices. If everyone transmits in the same channel, then nothing works. So check if you can switch channels.

However, even though they use the same frequency band it is not guaranteed that they use the same communication protocol.
