Wireless speakers?
Beatbox Portable

I'd like to find a wireless speaker system, but I am not sure where to start looking. I'd like a simple system that can connect to my ipod. Would like good to great sound quality. A big key would be expandability (i.e. single transmitter which allows for additional speakers to be added at another time, or maybe I can connect it to my DVD player). I'd also like the speakers to be indoor/outdoor, although I don't know if that makes any difference. Our new house has a huge deck and I'd like to have tunes pump out there.

Any advice?

Check these out. I recommend using wired speakers unless 1. You have no other choice. or 2. You want speakers that can be moved, like for a party. Also, wireless speakers still need power. Any-who that's my two cents. Hope this helps.

Any ideas for wireless solutions linking a mac to a stereo and speakers and tv to stereo?
My desk - [OLD!]

we have just moved house and need wireless only solutions around the house in connecting a mac (osx 10.4) to a sony hifi in a different room to link up and play itunes through the stereo. we need a wireless modem and adaptor to connect to broadband as phone line is in a separate hallway. we also would like a wireless connection from our samsung (new) tv to the same stereo to again play sound through the speakers. also are there any decent wireless speakers for a mac as ideally we would like speakers for the same room where the mac is and also our bedroom. i have looked at airport express etc and visited many shops but am baffled with it all. sounds a lot i know but please advise in plain english exactly how everything would work and cost. all the above has to be reasonably good quality but also affordable.
I know i already stated it is a mac so must be mac compatible, if you do not know this please don't answer the question. Cheers.

Your stereo would have to be part-computer to be able to receive a wireless signal, I haven't heard of such a device except, well, another computer.

Instead of transmitting from your current Mac, you could buy a Mac Mini or even a G4 Cube and use that as a media centre - people do this already. There is also the AppleTV but I don't really know anything about what that does, I imagine it's for playing back videos from a hard drive direct to your TV.

There are numerous articles out there on how to turn a Mac into a media centre, here's one I found straight away -

Has anyone used more than one set of wireless speakers?
New Editing Workstation

I will be upgrading from a 5.1 to a 7.1 home theater receiver. I live in an apartment and don't want to run wires to the 2 surrounds, and 2 rear speakers. I plan on purchasing a "Rocketfish" wireless transmitter/receiver to send the signal to the rear speakers. I don't have the surround speakers yet but was wondering about the possibility of using "two" rocketfish setups. They transmit on 2.4Ghz I believe. Would there be interference issues? Would using two setups significantly reduce sound quality? I know wireless quality is subpar to a direct connection so I really don't want to do wireless at all but I just cant run wires. Any help would be appreciated.

anything that uses 2.4 ghz has a potential of being interfered with by and causing interference to wireless routers and computers.....Try something that uses 5.8ghz or 900MHz....

How can I make my speakers wireless?
Desk

I have 2 bose speakers that i do not use because i hate to have wires running across the room . Is there an adapter or somthing that I can add to reciever and speakers to make them wireless. I do not want to buy a new set of wireless speakers.

Well my parents have a transmitter to send tv signals and audio to another room. A vcr and tv play it there. You could do this but somewhere along the way you'll need an amp/receiver to power the speakers. the unit works with video and audio rca jacks so should work like this.

One of the great strides in the Audio industry is the creation of wireless speakers. For years people had wires that ran from the audio receiver all the way to the speaker. For many this meant having many wires that people could trip on or break if they walked in the Wires way. As time has changed though and technology has gotten better the quality and function of these speakers are now much easier for you and the speaker.

These Wireless speakers normally use 2 systems to transmit the information from the audio receiver to the actual speaker. So use a remote controls which you need to have a good line of site or else the information will not get transmitted so the sound will not work. The 2nd formula for wireless speakers is the radio frequencies which is the same style as your wireless internet network. Unlike the remote control you do not have to use a line of site to transfer the information which means you can put these wireless speakers at greater distance and will not have interference problems when objects are in the way.
