Yamaha Surround Sound Speakers

Yamaha is a good entry level brand to get into. Don't forget Denon, Onkyo, or other small brands as well and listen to them all.

For speakers I would recommend a different brand, Bose is over priced for what you get and other cheaper speakers are out there for the same money. Better sound thru marketing.

Try klipsch, DEF TECH, B & W, etc..

You should let form FOLLOW function with a speaker. listen to all with the intended amp for best results

For christmas I got a yamaha surround sound system. I have to wire all the speakers and connect them but I'm a little lost on how to do it. I wired all the speakers together but I don't understand how to get the speakers connecte to the subwoofer. keep in mind I had to strip the wires so I know I don't connect them to the T.V so they must connect to the subwoofer but there is no wire to wire the one end to the speaker. here the one I got it might help

where and what type of reciever should I get?
I mean where can I find a 5.1 AVR reciever.

You will need to get a 5.1 AVR reciever.
Your speakers won't do much without it.

tv is a samsung 42 plasma and i use a hdmi cable to connect my ps3 to it.

Get a receiver (for PS3, I'll suggest minimum 600Watt one). Also get high quality dts cable (digital axial input) for audio for clean pure bass.

I have a Yamaha surround sound unit with Speaker A/B option on the front speakers. I have set up the Speaker B option to be Zone B that goes to a switch that then has speakers attached to the outdoor entertaining area. Problem is, the volume has to be up super high inside for the Zone B speakers to be heard. Each outside speaker has a volume control and these have to be on full to get any sound.

If your model of Yamaha has auto speaker set-up, the system is balanced to give the main A channel the best performance.

Have you tried selecting just B speaker setting and balancing it manually?

i am looking for some new speakers for my ipod and was wondering if i could actually use my surround sound system that i have for my tv . i have just read about them and it does say that the sound surround has a built in amplifier
which i think means that i could wire up my ipod and use as a speaker.

being a girl am not great at these kind of things .

Yes, you just need to pick up an eighth inch(headphone jack) to RCA(red and white plugs) cable
