"if a 4-Watt two way radio worked for example up to 3kms away, then mathematically, due to decrease in signal strength a 1-Watt two way radio would only work up to 1km away.
"This changes with each and every environment with different factors like line of sight and what the radio signals have to bounce off or penetrate etc, but at least this gives you an idea."
According to this I guess 5km would be a good guess but it depends on weather conditions and the size of the antenna: "The larger the two way radio antenna is, the larger the dispersion of the signal and therefore the range of the two way radio."

I have two 5.25" two way pioneer tweeters in my dash, 2 stock 6x9s in my back dash with 2 JLaudio 12" subs in one box and a 600 watt amp. Right now the 6x9s are unhooked so I can get more bass out of the subs , but the tweeters hardly put out any sound unless I fade my radio to the front and then the bass doesn't hit hard at all and the tweeters sound bad. Is there a way that I can have all the speakers hooked up so I can actualy hear the words in the songs and still get the bass to hit hard? Its a 92 buick century if that means anything.
i guess i didnt explain it that well. i have the amp hooked up to the speaker and the rca jack, remote wire and power wire hooked up to the radio. with the way my radio is, i have the back 6x9s unhooked because i have to fade it to the back so theres more bass because i have a small amp. but would it work if i connected the 6x9s and the tweeters to the front speaker wires?
Well it is really simple. get a 5/6 channel amp, hook the 6x9's and tweeters up to it and you'll have one or two spare channels for mid bass in the doors. The sound quality will improve significantly because you don't have to fade the hu and you can control your crossover settings on the amp.Leave the subs on the current amp. Hope this helps.

I have an 07 silverado with a 600 watt Insignia 2 channel amp pushing two twelves in sealed boxes running off the factory radio with a step down.
My Question is will I have to alter the step down in any way since I am about to install 6.5 insignia door speakers. I want to get the full benefit of the aftermarkets so will I need to mess with the step down.
There shouldn't be any need to adjust the line output converter. It will continue working like normal with the new speakers.
