Two Way Radios Answers
Me and my friends often have long road trips in two seperate cars and we would like to have a two-way communication device for talking between the two cars. Ideal would be something which switches itself on when the car starts and then we can talk.
1. One way can be a walkie-talkie, but it requires you to switch each time you want to talk.
2. Cellphones with speakerphone/bluetooth.
But I am looking something like an intercom which is on always (after the car starts.)
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
bluetooth cuz so you don't get pulled out by the police.

The Zune's seem very cool. I like the bigger screens and I'm a bit nervous about Ipods since Ive already had two that broke. Whats holding me back from getting a Zune is the hassle of having to convert all of my itunes library to whatever is the equivalent on itunes. Im also guessing its alot harder to find accessories (like car radio chargers etc.) for the Zune.
All things included, which do you honestly think is better and why. When transfering all your files from itunes to whatever the zune uses, does that mean that all of the space the songs are taking up on your computer is doubled by having two sets of the same library? Im pretty sure my computer space is limited and I want to make sure I'd have enough room to transfer them over or copy my whole library or whatever I'd need to do. Is the transfer process easy?
Any other mp3 players youd recommend instead of these two? Alright, thats alot of questions, but what do you think?
I've read that all your music, beside what youve bought off itunes (which is a very small percent for me) automatically shows up and converts when you install Zune Marketplace. True or False?
You cant use your iTunes music for Zune. But otherwise, if you have your music stored in My Music then it will automatically be synced to your Zune. The transfer process is extremely easy. Every time you open up Zune it will import all of your new songs, get album art, and then sync them to your Zune. It is pretty easy to find accessories, but sometimes they're not in stores. If you shop on the internet you can basically find all the accessories for Zune that you can for iPod.
Also, when you buy music from the Zune Marketplace, you do own it (unless you use the unlimited downloads service which is 14.99 a month with unlimited downloads) and with the buying credits, its the same as itunes basically. You can buy them at walmart. For $5 dollars you get 400 credits. each song is 79 points. You do the math, its the exact same as iTunes.

I have a 94 F 150, with a high mileage 302. If it sets for two days the battery dies. I don't have any aftermarket Accessories because i took them all off searching for the problem. I know its not the radio because i unhooked it. I don't know what else to do! Someone told me the stater my be the problem because it has been giving me some trouble. Oh its a brand new battery. and the alternator is good.
only two reasons........
one / bad or defective store battery
two / something is useing voltage from your car when parked,
Quick tip or suggestion, after driving, park the truck, loosen the battery terminal but just enough so you can replace it quickly and it will still be tight enougn to start.
leave the terminal off overnite and/or for 2 days, then only hook it up when you need the truck, and see if after those two days it starts,
If it does, the truck has a short problem
Fords and chrysler do this more often;
hook up battery, remove the NEGATIVE terminal and clip on a test light to the terminal and the other part to ground, with the drivers door closed , ignition off, see if the tester light goes on, if it does, there is definately a short, leave the light st up connected so the light stays on, get help for someone else to watch this light as you;...remove each individual fuse from the fuse box one by one watching the light to go out, doing this your are disconnecting each electric component one at the time to isolate the bad one.
This is what an electric auto place does, if none of the fuses pulled out turns off the light, it is something else,
Disconnect the power going to the alternator unplug the plugs and look for a looped wire with a 3/8ths nut also to remove, check the light, still on? we just checked the alternator, sometimes an alternator can be working but broken in a way to draw 12 volts from the battery
this is all you can do.
Last alternative if you do not want to go to an expensive auto electric shop is to disconnect the cable on the battery every time or for 20 dollars you can buy a shut off switch
good luck

I am looking to buy a cell phone for use on at&t. I'm debating between buying it at an official at&t store or at a Radio Shack.
I can buy it at the at&t store for a final price of $130 or at Radio Shack for $49. The at&t store is $80 more, but supposedly can throw in about $60's worth of accessories like a memory card, car charger, and maybe something else to help match the price. Radio Shack can't do any deals on accessories, but the phone is priced much lower and doesn't require rebates to get the additional discount.
Anyone have any comments about the two deals, and the two vendors? Regarding the stores, I feel the at&t store is the most "official" but the staff in each store I've been to has been very pushy, and they know very little about the product. They're attitude generally is "Are you gonna buy it today? Right now?" Radio Shack is a depressing store to be in, but their people can answer questions. I've heard stories about them, but they seem to be okay, considering I know what I want.
Any thoughts?
I never buy my cell phones from the service provider. I can get a much better deal elsewhere and after you walk out the door, the contract is the SAME regardless. If you have problems the local official store will still provide you will the same help regardless of where you bought it.
The official stores have extremely high mark up on the accessories and while you think you may be getting up to $60 in free accessories, you can buy them elsewhere for a lot less.
In this day and age, pushy salespeople are the norm, but it is your choice as to how fast they push you. Make sure you have all your questions asked before making your purchase.
When I am ready for a new phone, I go to the official store and check out the phones on display and look at the features that are important to me. In example, the ability to read the display without my reading glasses. I don't want to have to put on my glasses just to see what number is called on what time it is. When I pick out a phone, I then see who can give me the best deal on it.
The best thing I can suggest, talk to your freinds who may have the phone or service provider you are interested in. Let their personal experiences help you with your choice.
I guess what it comes down to, after you get home with the phone, does it really matter where you got it from it? Does saving up to $80 make a difference? It does to me, you can proably use the saving to pay the first months service and get the accessories you need as well.
