i have a police scanner. my friend wants me to air it over my walkie talkie set so he can listen to is that illegal to do that?
and what would the conciquences be if i did air it over please good and honest answers are appreciated
just thought i'd be more safe than sorry
Yes it is against the law. Federal law, the FCC regulates the re-transmission of communications on frequencies where they are not specifically authorized.

Can you either buy a receiver for a computer to pick up walkie-talkie signals, or somehow pick them up with some type of Wi-Fi-enabled device? I want the walkie-talkie air wave audio signals to show up as an audio input device on my computer so I can record and broadcast them, etc. Is there a way to do this on either a PC or Mac?
What frequencies or frequency do you want to be able to receive?
There are some scanners that is controlled by your computer. There are also a number of amateur (ham) radio receivers that are computer controlled. However if you plan to transmit with one of these you will need to get your license first.
yes, but it is a federal law that you cannot turn it on in a COMMERCIAL airliner. (FAA & FCC)
In a privately owned plane, sure, there are a lot of guys using ham radio from airplanes, ballons, etc.
Hi! I was listening to Cherry Blossom Girl by the French band Air (from their album, Talkie Walkie) and I am really lost about what the song is really all about and the meaning behind the song.
I've seen the film clip, so call me stupid, but I'm not sure about what it's all about and what the meaning is. Please help - I've been wondering about this for a while.
And also, if you can maybe help with the meaning behind Surfing on a Rocket (again by Air, on Talkie Walkie), that would be great. Thanks in advance.

p.s. my screen name here is after a song by them too. ;)
Kelly - check the website below - it has the lyrics and a forum where people are discussing the meaning of the song lyrics to "Cherry Blossom Girl":

This new one is pretty lame. It contains some of Air’s most lazy and unoriginial work so far. As a huge fan of Moon Safari, The Virgin Suicides Soundtrack, and especially Premieres Symptomes…I was quite disappointed with Pocket Symphony. And Walkie Talkie for that matter. This groups been going downhill for a while. Get something interesting instead. Like the new Chromeo record. Or hell, the old Chromeo record. Or watch the Air movie, “Eating Sleeping Waiting Playing,” to find out what dolts these guys really are.
French Electro-Duo Air consisting of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel came to promise in 1998 with the groundbreaking “Moon Safari” that mixed catchy meliodic electro hits like “Sexy Boy” and “Kelly Watch the Stars” and lush laidback slowtempo’s like “Talisman” and “La Femme D’Argent”. It’s inclusion of guest vocals on some songs like “All I Need” were right on spot and set the mood for the rest of the album. Air were both commercial and artistic and got plenty of airplay on MTV with “Sexy Boy”, but there was something for everyone on the dreamy voyage of “Moon Safari”. Air also contributed with the soundtrack to Sofia Coppola’s “The Virgin Suicides” and after that their fanbase outside of France became big and devoted. Their second album “10,000 Hz Legend” was a dissapointment though, mostly cause it sounded much diffrent from their debut and lacked the catchyness of songs like “Sexy Boy”. With 2004 years “Talkie Walkie” they took one step in the right direction, even if they haven’t been able to match the commercial success of “Moon Safari” with any of their two other albums. My first question with “Pocket Symphony” was if they were striving to go back to their roots or it was another mellow exprimentation far away from classic eletronica they once came to promise with?.
