Children Walkie Talkie

Ones that come in a package of two that can only communicate with each other?
Preferably long-ish range? It doesn't need to have any other features like cameras or games or voice talking, just texting.

I am taking a disabled child on a cruise to the bahamas, carnival, i know disney has a system for keeping track of kids with a walkie talkie type thing,,i want to buy something, wristbank or regular walkie talkie just so he can sort of "page me" if he is on a different part of the ship, any suggestions? not sure about electronics etc but i am sure some yahooian knows what i should need to know where the kid is, and to be alerted if he needs me. thank you
thx for the ans so far, but cell tels do not work on long distance cruises,,also as for the wal mart solution,,is there a certain one that DOES work on cruises, i am not sure of interference etc and not sure if its distance capability is just the answer,,as for google search,well i did search,i want ans from people who have used one and can recommend one known to work on a similar experience.thx

Part of it depends on where you live! I live in a very small town in Texas; the road I live on is very quiet. In fact, theres only two little two block roads right here so I let my 11 year old, two 9 year olds, and 8 year old ride their bikes and walk the dogs around the block all the time. But if your child is pretty responsible, and has a walkie talkie then I would say around 8-10 years old DEPENDING on how responsible they are! And only you know that.

I URGENTLY need to know what the frequency (police scanner) is for walkie talkie's, Uniden Model: GMR638-2CK. I have two children that are using them and we can't find them!!! We need to find them immediately.
Our unit has just broke. We don't know what to do.

Radios are cheap.... you can easily buy more. always remember, GMRS frequencies require a GMRS license. FRS-only frequencies require no license.
