Two Way Radios Answers

how to emulate two way radio using PC?

how to communicate between two PC via LAN similar to using walkie talkie or two way radio

i am doing commissioning in a industrial site were we mostly use walkie talkie or two way radio from motorolla to communicate with the person in field and the person in control room.

now getting a radio sometimes seems difficult and sometimes communication will not be clear due to building / wall obstruction.

now i have LAN setup between all the sites linked to central control room.

these LANs are not connected to internet. its a industrial LAN used for industrial devices to communicate to Central Control room.

now i want to use these LAN to communicate between field and control room using PC. is it possible to communicate using voice. is there a simple method to communicate without spending much.

These requirements are temporary until we finish off our commissioning which has a period of two months.
for these two months i want to communicate with my colleage in control room.

i usually stay in field and do the commissioning my actions will be reflected in controlroom but i need to know the results for these i used use radio to ask the other person in control room for verification. this verification goes throughout the day. sometime i use mobile phone to ask him. but i spend lots of money on the communication.

Always i also have a notebook pc at site and he also has a server(pc) at control room i just thought if we could communicate each other via LAN than expensive mobile phone.

many thanks

If they all have Internet access the obvious choice is skype. It will work on LAN but it requires an internet connection to establish the connection after that it is peer to peer over the LAN and doesn't leave the LAN.

Either way what you are talking about is called VoIP, Voice over Internet Protocol, and the use you described is referred to as VOIP over Ethernet.

what type of assassination was this ?

- 4 snipers used in a triangulated crossfire.

- Men wearing helments and talking into walkie talkies.

- Snipers are clean shaven. They all have short hair cuts. They are dressed like car mechanics.

What type of assassins am I describing ? CIA assassins ? Military Industrial Complex ? What ?

A well planned assasination. Could be any orginization. Why? Are there clean shaven mechanics on your neighbors roof pointing snipers at you? If so forget their orginization and run. And you might want to destroy the computer chip on your way out. I had the same problem a few weeks ago. (JK)

It's a military styled assassination, but what kind assassins are they ? CIA ? Military Industrial Complex ? What?

Those would be the Chupacabra Assassin Squads of Northern Thailand.

You probably lost a lot of people when you started talking about two way radios.

It sounds like you are looking for a voice chat solution. You would need a microphone and speakers at each location. Finding the right solution at the right price might be difficult. Not many people use it.

The variable capacitor inductor will vibrate at frequencies in the FM radio band (88 to 108 MHz). The electric microphone picks up the sound signals and converts it to electric signals. This microphone is battery powered and according to the V=IR Ohm's Law, changes in resistance for fixed voltage will result in proportional changes in current. This current feeds into the base of the 2N2222 NPN transistor which is connected the variable capacitor, inductor and antenna. depending on your variable capacitor's value, your voice will be modulated to transmit at a frequency between 88 and 108 MHz. If a nearby pocket FM radio is tuned to this frequency, your voice can be picked up by it. They are...
