Cloak & Dagger (1984)
starring Henry Thomas, Dabney Coleman, Christina Nigra, Jeanette Nolan, John McIntire, Michael Murphy, William Forsythe, Robert DoQui, Linden Chiles, Tim Rossovich
IMDB synopsis:
11-year-old Davey, whose mother is dead and whose father is preoccupied with his own problems, has retreated into a world of video games and an imaginary hero-pal, the swashbuckling superspy Jack Flack. When an FBI agent about to be murdered slips him a video cartridge containing top-secret data, Davey is suddenly plunged into the intrigue and danger of real-life espionage. No adult believes his story, so he must run a gauntlet of violence and villainy aided only by a younger girl and the encouragement of his imaginary hero at his side. NOTE: Jack Flack is the name of the action figure he carries. Dabney Coleman plays the boy's father and Jack Flack.
TRIVIA:
The video game which is central to the movie had already been in development as production of the film began (the game then named "Agent X"); when Atari was consulted to provide a game as an element of the movie, they tweaked "Agent X" and renamed it Cloak & Dagger. Dabney Coleman's character was then named "Agent X" in the movie. The game saw limited arcade release.
The boy and girl communicate via walkie-talkies, much to her embarrassment. That's why I think that it's this film, not "Small Soldiers", for example. The boy pictures the action figure as a full-size person~who happens to look like his often-absent father. I have to admit that I have watched this film many times since it came to HBO back in 1985. I especially like it because the adults aren't made to act ridiculous, adding to the menace in the film; they plan to kill the boy, and the script doesn't dance around that fact. The boy and girl act like children their age should, and I find it amusing that the girl, who is younger, sometimes looks askance at the boy's antics, as if to say, "Grow up!" *giggle*
Kids everywhere are taking charge. Of their toys at least. And if you don#39;t have an Energizer Smart Charger yet, get ready to hear about it ...
If a walkie talkie uses the same satilite as cell phones. Then, no matter what, if its a kids walkie talkie then it still used the same satilite.
walkie talkies do not use satellites. phones that have walkie talkie features use the cellular (ground based) network to carry and route the signal. That is why there is a charge.
Kid walkie talkies just communicate with one another, directly. the signal does not pass through any communication infrastructure.

When I was a kid, my brother and I would play with walkie talkies. Every once in a while we would hear the conversations of people on their phones, but we would lose the signal pretty quickly. Have you ever heard anything interesting through a walkie talkie?
No, but I scared the heck out of some women on cordless phones one time.
We used to live in an apartment where you had to go outside to get down to the basement to get to our laundry room. My husband had some walkie talkies, and one day as I was gathering laundry, I accidentally turned one on. The signal interfered with another nearby signal where two women friends were both on cordless phones. I listened to them for a bit, and it was just normal stuff, but I decided to see if they could hear me, too, so I said in a really weird voice, "Is there someone there?" They both immediately heard me, but one of them was physically closer to me than the other, because she heard me clearly, while the other didn't hear everything--she had some static. Just for fun I pretended to be a lost spirit and said a bunch of spooky scary stuff to them. I told the one who could hear me really clearly that she was in my house (we lived in a historic neighborhood full of victorian houses, most over 100 years old), and that I didn't understand what she was doing standing in my kitchen (she had told her friend she was cleaning out her cupboards while they talked, so I knew what room she was in in her house). I spent about 20 minutes standing in the laundry room laughing my butt off and periodically saying weird scary stuff to them. They were both really freaked out, and the one who thought I was in her house was really upset. I remember she asked me what the date was and I told her I didn't know the date, but that it was 1889. That really got her going.
Looking back, it was a mean prank, but I sure thought it was funny that day. At least it made doing laundry into an interesting chore for a change.
it's for Blackberry 8350i with Direct Connect on the Sprint Network

Cell Phones for Kids – Smartest Picks
Phones and service plans for children, geared to have developed in response to the exponential growth of this new target market, too! These plans are focused on security and simplicity for its young users. I will review provides few companies known "and make suggestions as follows.
CingularFirefly:
This phone is the first specifically for children are produced and marketed. This phone is for very young children. Has two key symbol and not the numeric keypad. Parents can set the phone to reject incoming calls from anyone but those who are in the phone book online program. E 'expensive. The phone is $ 119.00 and calls are 25 cents per minute if you are a Cingular customer. There were also concerns about the phone is not strong enough.
