Are there any mobile phones with built in two way radios?

Hi, Im just thinking about buying two way radios for work, all the business ones seem to be around 100 £, I need them licence free but still of business quality, so i thought about mobile phones with two way radios built into them? anybody know aything ? x

The technology is called Push To Talk (PTT) but no-one in the UK supports it. Orange did offer a PTT-style service (called Talk Now) for a monthly subscription fee a while back on selected handsets but this has now been stopped.

I think the problem is that PTT competes with the network's ability to charge for normal calls and they've all been unable to work out how to charge for PTT usage.

What is the most affordable two-way radio option that will give me up to a 30 mile range?

I have been giving my supervisors cell phones for work. This is not working and I am looking for a way to keep our office, 3 supervisors and myself connected via 2 way radios (or similar). This would mean buying out of the sprint contract for two phones. I need up to a 30 mile range.

Nooo... ham radio is not authorized to conduct business. Each operator requires an individual license, plus amateur radio only allows for personal communications. Not an option.

Same goes for GMRS.

Strictly an issue for the Business communication service.

You need to contact a two way radio company. You will need to operate through a repeater system, as direct communication will not be possible at these distances.

You will need to see if there is a specialized mobile radio system in your area. If so, you can buy access to the system.

Equipment costs are rather high, although many two way radio compaines offer a lease option.

You could pay over $500 per unit for access to an 800 Mhz trunked system... plus access costs. Costs for UHF and VHS equipment may run about $250 per unit... plus repeater access, if available in your area.

You may wish to consider Nextel.

Cell phone and two way radio interference with my computer?

Why is this happining and does it dammage any of this equipment?

If you are hearing buzzing sounds out of your computer's speakers, this is normal. Solve this issue by moving your electronics futher away from your speakers.

Cellular phones and radio waves cannot damage your computer.

Can you turn a GSM phone into a two way radio?

What I mean is not using Push to talk services offered by phone companies but convert them to be completely peer to peer based. So you can send voice DIRECTLY from one phone to another, unlike a regular call which first goes to the phone network THEN to the other phone. Is this possible?

no you cant
if you try you will might damage your phone

is it possible to modify a wireless phone (not a cell phone) to act like a two way radio?

If you guys need detail I can post more, but right now I have an extra handset and want to know if it is possible for somehow making it so that it transmits signals through the base so that other two way radios can pick them up and transfer the signals back as understandable speech.
