They are not professional types of walkie talkies. Unable to remove batteries as the walkie talkie radios are rechargeable.
I would not put them in your checked bag. Might not be there at the destination. Those are just another electronic device - like a phone, or a laptop, or ... whatever.
Can you somehow tape over the on/off switch, or protect it so it cannot turn on?

My company is looking for inexpensive walkie talkies with short antenas, need to be rechargeable and idiot proof for outdoor use. Hi there,I just bought a pair of Motorola walkie/talkie radios.Model #KEAD-199.It says to use sx700 batteries,but the owner said I could use AAA.Will these batteries burst?I can't use the rechargeable kind because these are to be taken camping?Please advise, and Thanks in advance for the kind help.

Ideally you need the SX700's to get longer use, regular AAA's run out faster so you will have to take several packs.
Would you consider using a solar powered charger for the NiMh batteries?
normally i would used up fully (drained) all the power in my rechargeable batteries before i recharged them again. will this make the lifespan of those batteries shorter or should i just recharge them when they are about a quater of power left in them, to make their lifespan longer ? these batteries are meant for appliances like cell phones, cd players, walkie talkies etc.
yes if you drain the batteries drain it does help in the lifespan. i had a charger that had a conditioner, it sucked out any remaining juice out and then recharge it. if you charge them half ways or a quarter ways, your eventually shorting the lifes span of the batteries. haven't you noticed that when you first got a cell phone the batterie would last forever, but as time goes by the battery needs charging like every day, well cause your supposed to let it die and then plug it in.
