Two Way Radios Answers
I'm a security guard and we use two-way radios for communication but I'm going to be getting a CB radio and was wondering if it's possible to use it to talk to a two way radio. Like would it be the same frequency or the same channel as on the two way? Thanks.
Definitely not. CB channels are between 26.965 MHz (channel 1) and 27.405 MHz (channel 40). The majority of two-way communication radios use frequencies between 460 MHz and 470 MHz.

is there anyway to make a two way radio into a cb radio and if there is how, any help is greatly appreciated
You can buy a brand new CB for less than $50, so why bother?

Yes it would, in theory, be possible as long as the target kept transmitting for long enough.
How? You would use a highly directional antenna (i.e one that would only pick up the signal when pointing almost straight at the target) and sweep it slowly through 360 degrees. When you pick up the target transmission, you know, roughly, what direction the target is in.
Keep doing that while traveling towards the signal and you would eventually find it.
A better way would be to use 2 or more directional antennas simultaneously in different locations. Both would use the same technique to find the direction of the target and then the two directions could be used to triangulate the target. This would be much quicker and more accurate than the first process but would obviously require more people/antennas and co-ordination between the two.
Hope this helps.

im looking for some high quality and very durable walkie talkies or two-way radios that can be charged with a solar panel. and of course the panel to power them.
a cb would work also.
where can i find what im looking for?
what is the application?
You are going to need to recharge the batteries from the solar cells. This process depends on the size of the solar panels.
No one makes a transceiver with built in solar power.
an alternative would be very low power transceivers that operate using Morse Code. A 15 inch square panel would provide enough current to get a 500mW 30 meter CW transceiver on the air. This is not an "off the shelf" item, you will need to build it.
im looking for some high quality and very durable walkie talkies or two-way radios that can be charged with a hand powered generator. and of course the generator to power them.
where can i find what im looking for??
a cb radio would work also.
thanx
Most two way radios need a traditional power source. If you can plug a three pronged connector into the hand generator, then they would probably work.
