Two Way Radios Answers

Where can I find the two way radio frequency for a particular taxi company in my area?

Most 2 way radios you would need an FCC license to get. Most businesses that get the 2 way radio systems buy a particular frequency so the only way to get the same one would to be lucky and find a used one.

GMRS radio frequency to use in USA (two way radios)?

So I'm driving from Canada to the US with another group. As we will have two cars and would like to avoid roaming charges, I figured it would make more sense to use two GMRS radios to keep in contact while we drive.

The question is I am unaware of what the laws are regarding radio frequencies and which ones are save to use vs which ones must be avoided.

Does anyone know what channels/sub channels I can use south of the border as I travel in Albany and New Jersey?

You need a license with the FCC for GMRS.

You can use FRS and CB with no license. The frequencies are the same in The USA and Canada for that. Just use your best judgment for what channel to use.

Someone told me that every countries have different frequency alloted to two way radio.

It depends. Look up your provider's services to where you are going. I know that it works in Pakistan from having done it there. Good luck!

I’m somewhat surprised one of your groupies here hasn’t pointed out that the bike is probably a bit anachronistic — not sure what bikes looked like in late 1800s, but I’m just guessing, not like his.

Who cares, though? Can’t take my eyes off Paul. Mmm, mmm. They just don’t make ‘em like that anymore.
