Two Way Radio Talk

I'm getting some two-way radios and headsets for airsofting, and I'm just wondering if the XT (for example, Midland GXT or LXT) in Midland radio names stands for Extra Talk. Thanks to all who contribute!

it doesnt however i am drawing a blank about what it does mean. ill update later if i remember...

I'm a security guard and we use two-way radios for communication but I'm going to be getting a CB radio and was wondering if it's possible to use it to talk to a two way radio. Like would it be the same frequency or the same channel as on the two way? Thanks.

Definitely not. CB channels are between 26.965 MHz (channel 1) and 27.405 MHz (channel 40). The majority of two-way communication radios use frequencies between 460 MHz and 470 MHz.

i work in a press. it is loud and communication is crucial.

im looking the longest talk time and i also would like to know if it will work in a lot of noise in the background.

GMRS radios list their transmit range under ideal conditions. The fine print typically states the battery life under assumptions such as 5% talk time. Talk time is all about the batteries you're using.

For maximum battery life, use batteries with the longest milli-Ampere-hour (mA-h) rating and talk (transmit) as little as possible.

On tv or the movies when they are talking on A two radio when the other person tells them somthing and they understand they say roger. Did they say that in real life or is that just make believe?

Sure, that's for real, especially in military aviation. A lot of truckers use it, too. I still say it on two-way radios, out of habit, I guess. U.S. Air Force vet. Roger that?

the dollar ,like when he thinks it's going down which is a lot unfortunately but ,almost trading it ,for yen,pound ,does anyone have any idea what this guy was talking about

Futures in currency can be bought and sold just like commodities. In addition, one could exchange a limited amount of dollars into, say yen. If there is a major move in either currency on the later, you could make a bundle or conversely have to sell your house and first born. On the former, if there is a major move on the currency you bought or sold, you also could make a bundle or lose your house. If the guy is selling the dollar, he thinks the value of the dollar is greater than what he thinks it will be in the future. IMO trading with the dollar is a foolish move although trading with other currencies or exchanging your dollars to another currency could be a boon but may very well be a bust. If you want to get political, he thinks that Obama's plans will either fail or take a very long time to take hold. If the stimulus and other plans do improve the economy, he takes it in the shorts.
Note that gold is kind of a cross between a currency and a commodity and, although I don't recommend trading in it now, it would be a better approach.
