Walkie Talkie Charger

I own a pair of Magnovox talkies, and recently the batteries died. So, I was wondering if I could put them into a Energizer wall charger to charge them up. Is that possible?

It's possible. Depends on the battery type. First, they have to be rechargeable. If not, well, you can't recharge what can't be recharged. Next, they've got to be the standard size for the charger. If not, well... you're starting to get the ideo.

You need to look at the walkie talkies or your documentation and figure out the charger you need. It will give both a voltage (say 9 VDC) and a current rating (say 300 milli-amp). Once you know that, you can buy a replacement changer. Radio Shack has them although I really don't like radio Shack. Best Buy and many other places will also carry. You need one that has EXACTLY the same voltage rating. The current rating of what you buy has to be at least as big as the what you previously had, but it can also be a larger number (say 500 milli-amp).

I have a midland 16 chanel 20 mile 2 way radio set that came with charger and all that stuff. The only problem is it acts more like a 1 way radio cuase most of the time only one wil transmit clearly and the other will hear clearly, but not the other way around. I just ordered some headsets to wear under the paintball mask, to use for communication durring paintball games. Why wont they communicate to each other clearly?

I'm not talking about talking at the same time, and When the radios are right by each other they mess up and get feedback, static. Only one will transmit and the other hear it. Not the other way around. when right next to each other.

This is probably a half duplex system!

That means that only one person can speak at the same time. If this is the case, there's nothing you can do to fix that, as it's the design of the system.

One which allows both people to speak at the same time, is called full duplex.
