Walkie Talkie Gmrs Frs Radio

I am planning to take a walkie talkie (Midland GXT-710VP3 26-Mile GMRS/FRS 2-Way Radio) to India. But, am wondering if it is legal to use there without any license or prior approval.

Not likely. Regulatory agencies within various countries have assigned different frequencies for different uses. The short range of the UHF band, where FRS/GMRS radios operate, has not necessitated international frequency coordination, so other countries use FRS/GMRS frequencies for other uses, such as police, fire, ambulance. When FRS/GMRS became popular in the United States, other countries followed the American lead, but they had to work around their pre-existing frequency allocations. Europe developed PMR446 radios near 446 MHz. Similar Chinese radios are near 409 MHz. Japan has similar radios near 420 MHz. Australia and New Zealand have UHF CB near 477 MHz. So, the likelihood that India would have allocated FRS/GMRS frequencies for similar use is slim. Check with the Indian embassy or an Indian consulate for more details. India is considered to have very bureaucratic radio regulation, so don't be surprised if there is a lot of red tape involved.

My family and I use GMRS/FRS (walkie talkie) two way radios when we hunt, but there is a mountain that separates us sometimes. I have read about GMRS repeaters but this is all confusing me. I need a straight forward explaination as well as a list of prettymuch all that I need to set up a mobile repeater in my car to use while hunting. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Bear in mind, you need a license to use GMRS. If you are discovered operating on a repeater by the owner, you could be in serious trouble.

I am thinking of buying a set of walkie talkie radios, they are frs/gmrs frequency, I PLAN TO USE them for fun, someone told me that in order to use these handheld radios like these that it may be neccesary to get a license from the FCC IS THIS TRUE OR FALSE ?

Sorry I new to this, as well new to this "ask" feature, but thus far, am thinking its great, thanks to you all, for the help, however, when I recieve the radios in the mail, will there be specifics in the instructions, maybe telling me what channels do and dont require a license, also are the channels that require a license, better in distance, and or quality etc, I would prefer the most range possible ,, also when I went to the fcc website, it asks what type of license am I it was very confusing etc, and not sure if the license has to re newed every year, and or how much,??,,

what will be the range of i-com v8 if i use a pair of these set with no base or sumthing only 2 set of i-com v8 and what will be the original range of UNIDEN 28 mile?

An Icom V8 is an amateur 2 meter radio. You cannot use these without an amateur radio license!! You MUST be a licensed ham to use these. Hams aggressively pursue pirates.
